Class Assignments by Track

A1 - Boehme/Goff:   
Valentines Day:  If students bring a valentine for one in the class, they bring for all.  2/12.
"Be a Team Player - Read" Jazz Reading Program now through February 16.  Write minutes and book daily on reading form.  Turn in each Friday.  
Math:  WS 7-9 due Thursday.  After school tutoring starts on 2/9.
Spelling:  contrast, contact, compound, concentrate, combine, comment, conference, compete, community, convert, conversation, commute, constitution, conduct, consumer, continent, composition, communicate, compliment, condition
Vocabulary: emulate, motive, anonymous, bland, skeptical, veered, reception, aim, understatement, fanatic
Social Studies: Atlas 59 due 2/12.
Keyboarding:  Do Edutyping to improve your technique, speed, and accuracy in typing.  This will be  graded this term with a state Keyboarding Test the first week of February. Have 28 wpm or higher for an A.
Poem: "The Oak Tree" by Johnny Ray Rider.  Need to memorize and recite in class on Wednesday Feb. 17th.

A2- Packard:
  1. Check Skyward for grades and missing assignments.
  2. Grammar: No assignment.
  3. Math: 7-8. Due: 2/10.
  4. Social Studies: Atlas #16. Due: February 10.
  5. ThinkThroughMath: 55 lessons passed off by February 29.
  6. Language Arts: Online Essay: "A Great Weekend Place."Due: Monday, Feb.21, midnight.
  7. SpellingCity.com: My Side of the Mountain #5 and #6. Due: 2/15 midnight. Be sure to do the spelling test LAST!
  8. NoRedInk: No assignment.
  9. Speaking Assignment: Poem: "The Bridge Builder." Due: February 29. Practice saying it LOUD, SLOW, and CLEAR.
  10. Independent Reading: 20 minutes every night. Be sure to read a book on your Lexile level. 
  11. Keyboarding: Practice on Typing.com. 30 wpm or higher for an "A".
  12. Science: No assignment.

D- Berven/Thomas:  
Valentine Class Party Friday at 10:30am -  
No boxes required/volunteers needed

Check Skyward for missing assignments.  All work is due by March 4th.

Thinkthroughmath.com (online) 50 Lessons passed off by February 26th midnight.
Language Arts:  Ancient Greece Vocabulary Cards  - 3 Word Definitions.
Vocabulary: Ancient Greece / Quiz Friday Feb. 26th
"Be a Team Player - Read" Read to help our school win a Jazz Player Assembly!  The contest will end on February 16th.  All minutes must be reported to Mrs.Berven or Thomas by that day.  
Spelling:  Elk Meadows Spelling Bee is February 25th.  Please study the list of words send home today to be ready for our class Spelling Bee (week of Feb 16-19) and then a chance to participate in the Elk Meadows Spelling Bee on the 25th. 
Science: Solar Systems (Boehme/Goff)
Social Studies:  Weekly #12 due: Friday
Poem: "Sick" by Shel Silverstein will be our next memorized poem.  You are welcome to look it up in his book "Where the Sidewalk Ends" and get started memorizing it.  Practice saying it LOUD, SLOW, and CLEAR.  It will be due Wednesday, Feb. 24th.
